Online Booking
The easiest way to book is online via this website. To avoid disappointment please ensure you book at least 24hrs before the experience is due to start.
Booking Confirmation and Joining Instructions
These will be e-mailed to you as soon as you have booked. If you do not receive them please check your Junk / Spam folders.
Group Sizes
For immediate online booking our maximum group size is 8 persons. The minimum group size is 1 persons. Please enquire well in advance regarding the possibility of larger groups.
For the time being, all experiences are private groups.
Age
The minimum age for all canoe experiences is 5 years. All children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Weight
We have a maximum weight limit of 17 stone or 110 kg.
Lifting Canoes
You may need to help your guide help load and unload your canoe from the trailer and on longer experiences you may need to help portage the canoes around the locks.
Disabilities and Learning Difficulties
If anyone in your group has a disability or learning difficulty please contact us before booking. We will do all we can to make a canoe experience possible and enjoyable for you.
Medication
Let us know if you have any medical conditions that could effect you during a canoe experience. Remember to bring any medicines with you (for example asthma inhalers etc).
Equipment
All equipment is provided. Canoes / Paddles / Buoyancy aids.
Clothing
You need to wear suitable clothes for the weather.
If it is cold / wet bring warm clothes and waterproof jacket and trousers.
If it is sunny and warm a sun hat and sun screen is a great idea.
Wetsuits are not required for this type of canoe experience as you should not end up in the water. However! On rare occasions people do fall in and for this reason you should bring a towel and a complete change of clothes.
Precious Items
Please DO NOT bring any expensive cameras, phones, watches, keys etc. If they get wet or dropped they will probably be gone for ever! We do have some waterproof containers for car keys only.
Footwear
For the Bude canal training shoes or similar are ideal.
Bare feet or flip flops are not suitable for your own safety.
Food & Drink
On all experiences you should bring some snacks and a drink.
The Weather
Canoe experiences take place in most weather conditions. However, if high winds or heavy rain is forecast we may cancel. In which case we can reschedule or give a full refund.
Dogs Welcome On Private Experiences Only
Let us know if you are planning on bringing your dog. It is very important that your dog is well behaved and can sit still for the duration of the experience. Bring a large mat or towel for the dog to sit on.
Don’t Be Late
We want you to have the maximum time in the canoes! So don’t be late! Plan to arrive, ready to paddle at least 5 minutes before your experience is due to start.
Remember, especially in the afternoons, during the holidays, it can take time to find a parking space.
