Bushcraft Skills!

From the beginning of June we will be offering a completely new and exciting Bushcraft Experience.

On this 3 hour experience you will have great time and learn amazing bushcraft skills.

Set in a beautiful hidden Devon valley with woods and babbling stream you won’t find a better location.

Bushcraft is really useful when out in the wilds, be it on a bike, in a canoe or on foot. During this 2.5 hour experience you will sample outdoor living at its best.

Unique in a number of ways:-
– Fun tractor trailer ride to / from venue
– Private venue nestled in the lovely Devon countryside
– Based around building your own bush camp using tarps, hammocks and natural resources
– Making fire and a tasty bushwhacker snack and may be the odd toasted marshmallow

Just like our canoe experiences this is a jam packed, interesting and fun activity! Time will fly and you will definitely be wanting more!

Introduction to Tandem Canoeing

Bideford Canoe Club members looking pleased to bits having completed their canoeing course!

It’s not often you will see the Bude Canoe Experience boats on the canal mid winter! However, Paul made an exception for some Bideford Canoe Club training.

Together with Emily from North Devon Explorers we successfully delivered the course to 16 participants over two days.

Learning the basics of tandem canoe paddling, including rescues, will enable these paddlers to start exploring flat water environments independently and most of all safely.

A great couple of days on the water!

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!!

Great to be back in the canoes and on the Bude Canal this year! And a huge thank you to all our paddlers for supporting us…..

This Christmas we are again supporting Cornwall Air Ambulance ( https://cornwallairambulancetrust.org ) who do incredible work complementing the emergency services with super fast critical care response. Essential in rural Cornwall.

2019 / 20 Cornwall Tourism Awards

Last Thursday night we headed off to Truro Cathedral to attend the Cornwall Tourism Awards. Nominated in two categories we waited patiently to find out how we did.

First up was Best Active and Sporting Experience where we were awarded Silver!

Second up was Best Learning Experience where we were awarded Gold!

As you can imagine we are all over the moon to be recognised like this for the second year in a row at such a prestigious event.

A huge thank you must go to all our fantastic customers for their continued support and everyone else that has contributed behind the scenes. You are all appreciated very much.

Great Summer Season!

What a great summer we have had here at the Bude Canoe Experience!

On the whole we have had fantastic weather. Lots of lovely, super enthusiastic and talented paddlers. One even managed to do a handstand in a canoe!

We had record number of lovely dogs accompanying their owners in the canoes too….so cute!

It was great to move to our new mooring in the Lower Wharf. A truly stunning location away from cars and convenient for pre and post canoeing refreshments.

The icing on the cake though was finding out that we are finalists in this years Cornwall Tourism Awards.

BUT! It’s not over yet! There is still time to come canoeing with us as we are open until the end of October.

Well we certainly think so!
